Important News: Changes to Our Adoption Process!

At Solstice Cats, we are always looking for ways to improve our adoption process to ensure our Maine Coon kittens find the best possible homes. Weâ€™re excited to announce that we are moving away from our waitlist system and transitioning to a pre-approval adoption process!

Why the Change?

We want to give every family whether they’ve been following us for years or just discovered our cattery an equal opportunity to bring home a Solstice Cats kitten. Under our new system, potential adopters will submit an application for pre-approval rather than placing a deposit to join a waitlist. This means no one is locked into making a purchase, and when kittens become available, all pre-approved families will have an equal chance to select their perfect companion.

How the New Adoption Process Works:

1. Submit an Application - Interested families complete an application to be considered for a future kitten.

2. Pre-Approval - Approved applicants will receive confirmation and remain eligible to select a kitten from future litters.

3. Kitten Selection - Once kittens reach 8 weeks of age and have been seen by our vet, all pre-approved families will receive an email with available kittens, their personality descriptions, and adoption details.

4. Choosing Your Kitten - Approved applicants can reserve a kitten on a first-come, first-served basis. To secure a kitten, a non-refundable $500 deposit is required.

5. Final Payment & Pickup - The remaining balance is due when kittens are 12 weeks old and ready for their final vaccines and spay/neuter surgery. After recovery, they will be ready to go home.

All pre-approved families will be notified in advance of the date we will send out emails with available kittens so you can be prepared to make your selection and place your deposit. We will also post updates on our website and social media to ensure everyone has time to plan.

What Happens to Families on Our Current Waitlist?

We appreciate the patience and support of families who have already placed deposits under our previous system. As a thank you, all families currently on our waitlist will have the opportunity to choose their kitten before our new preapproved families make their selections. Once all wait list members have selected their kittens, we will transition entirely to the new pre-approval system.
