Why do you no longer have a wait list?We want to ensure that every family has an equal opportunity to find their perfect kitten without feeling locked into a purchase. Our new pre-approval system allows us to match kittens with loving homes more efficiently while giving all approved applicants—whether they’ve just found us or have been following our cattery for a while—an equal chance to select a kitten. This approach also ensures that families choose a kitten based on personality and fit rather than just waiting for availability.

How does the adoption process work? How It Works: Submit an Application – Interested families must complete an application to be considered for a future kitten. Pre-Approval – Approved applicants will receive confirmation and remain eligible to select a kitten from future litters. Kitten Selection – When kittens are 8 weeks old and have been examined by our veterinarian, all approved applicants will receive an email with available kittens, their personalities, and adoption details. Choosing Your Kitten – Approved applicants can reserve a kitten on a first-come, first-served basis. To secure a kitten, applicants must respond to the available kitten email and place a non-refundable $500 deposit. Final Payment & Pickup – The remaining balance is due when kittens are 10-12 weeks old and ready for their final vaccines and spay/neuter surgery. After recovery, kittens will be ready to join their new families.

When do I have to pay for my kitten? If you are a pre-approved family, at 8 weeks of age you will receive an email notifying you what kittens are available and place your deposit. The balance is due when kittens are 10-12 weeks old, prior to their spay/neuter appointments. Payments can be made over time or the entire balance can be paid at once.
-
Do you deliver? We offer flight nanny and ground transport options for those families that aren't local to us. The cost is on top of the price of your kitten. Kittens will absolutely not fly in cargo. The flight nanny will meet families at their closest major airport.

Where are you located? In Queen Creek, about 40 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

What genetic testing does Solstice Cats do, and why? Most pedigree cats are prone to certain genetic conditions specific to their breed. A reputable Maine Coon breeder will conduct thorough genetic testing on all breeding cats to screen for potential defects before breeding. In Maine Coons, the following genetic tests are essential: HCM (Feline Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy): A heart condition where the walls of the heart muscle thicken, causing the heart to enlarge. SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy): A genetic disease affecting Maine Coons that causes a progressive loss of motor neurons in the lower spinal cord, leading to muscle atrophy in the hind limbs, resulting in an unsteady gait and posture issues. PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease): An inherited condition that leads to the formation of multiple cysts in the kidneys. These cysts grow over time and can eventually cause kidney failure.
